Our Community
A Community Built Around Purpose
Oxford Mills was designed to be more than a collection of offices. It was envisioned as a place where organizations, businesses, and neighbors could come together to collaborate, share ideas, and strengthen the neighborhoods they serve.
Today, Oxford Mills is home to a diverse mix of mission-driven nonprofits, professional organizations, local businesses, and neighborhood amenities. Together, they create a vibrant mixed-use destination where work, collaboration, and everyday life intersect in the heart of Philadelphia.
From the beginning, Oxford Mills was envisioned as a home for organizations dedicated to expanding educational opportunity across Greater Philadelphia. The creation of the Center for Educational Excellence reflected a shared commitment to bringing education-focused nonprofits together in one collaborative environment.
Today, the Center brings together mission-driven organizations working to strengthen schools, support educators, and expand opportunities for students, educators, and communities across Greater Philadelphia. By sharing a common space, these organizations have opportunities to collaborate, exchange ideas, and build partnerships that extend beyond their individual missions.
While education remains central to Oxford Mills’ identity, the community has grown to include nonprofits, professional offices, local businesses, and neighborhood amenities—all within a vibrant mixed-use environment.
For commercial tenants, Oxford Mills offers more than a workplace. It offers a setting where organizations can collaborate with neighbors, welcome clients, and be part of a larger community. With historic architecture, landscaped outdoor spaces, convenient parking options, and residential energy throughout the property, Oxford Mills creates a workplace experience unlike a traditional office building.
A cornerstone of the Oxford Mills campus, Gryphon Café serves as a daily gathering place for residents, employees, visitors, and neighbors. With welcoming indoor seating and landscaped outdoor spaces, the café provides a convenient setting for informal meetings, conversations, and moments of connection throughout the day.
From your morning coffee to lunch with colleagues, Gryphon Café makes it easy to enjoy fresh food and handcrafted beverages without ever leaving the Oxford Mills campus.
Oxford Mills has become a nationally recognized example of how historic preservation, community development, and adaptive reuse can create lasting impact.
Through its combination of residential living, mission-driven organizations, neighborhood businesses, and thoughtfully preserved architecture, Oxford Mills demonstrates how historic buildings can be renewed as places where organizations and communities grow together.
